  • receive updates regarding long-term care services for individuals who have a disability in Texas
  • stay current on issues during the 82nd Legislative Session
  • connect with a network of advocates dedicated to long-term care reform and ending the institutional bias in Texas

Organize a Community Now! coalition in your community

 

  • Host a screening of the film: "Forgotten Lives".  
  • Host an informational presentation: A Case for Long-Term Care Reform 

To schedule a screening or presentation in your community, email us your request. This is a great way to bring people together. "Alone we can do so little. Together we are stronger and can get the job done." ~ unknown.

Educate Yourself and Others - Texas decision makers need to hear from individuals and families affected by disability. Your stories are needed!

 

  • Send an Email, fax or letter. Don't forget to send a picture - pictures are worth a thousand words.
  • Make a phone call
  • Visit your Respresentative – make office visits (local or in Austin)  
  • Send a letter to the Editor of your local paper
  • Attend a Hearing
  • Attend a Town Hall meeting
